Local notesMorant Bay was the scene of a famous uprising in 1865, now commemorated by a small park with bronze statue of Paul Bogle, a Jamaican National Hero. Morant Bay Fort stands behind the small town. There is a fossil rock face, the best known on the island, on the road to Bowden wharf.
