| Local notes | Cedar Key is a relatively crowded tourist area for these parts. The Cedar Keys islands nature reserve, and the fishing grounds, are the main attractions. Many sailors here are 'trailer-sailors', who bring their shallow-draft boats by road for launching. Consequently the marinas in the area are not always full service. The town is small, has no McDonalds, Burger King or Wal Mart, and everything closes early except for the lighted fishing pier. |
