| Local notes | Hopetown is on Elbow Cay, a small island off the east side of Great Abaco. The island is about six miles long and a quarter-mile wide. The settlement is Hope Town, a small village with shops and restaurants, a pharmacy and medical clinic. Motor traffic is prohibited in town, but bikes can be hired. Hope Town Harbour is very often crowded, but it is possible to reserve a mooring by calling in advance on VHF 16 to reserve one. Club Soleil has some moorings in the harbour. |
